[ Summary ] We described the latest system, capable of multi-tasking, achieved with full source input, and corresponding to a management system (point of act system; POAS). This system is used at for real time generation of information in medical practices, which may be termed a medical treatment version of POS (point of sales). The idea of this system, developed in the International Medical Center of Japan is an application of EBM, using data mining for (1) business improvements and management improvements, (2) risk management, and (3) management of medical practices and DRG/PPS. For instance, diagnosis and treatment data flows to a management accounting system at the same time that data is generated by the endoscopic system when the image is generated. We were able to manage our practice with POAS, which is similar to POS systems used in convenience stores. This information is gathered at the time of generation in the medical practice, and so real-time information gathering has become possible. As mentioned above, we introduced the integration of man agement systems for multipurposes which enable us to make management improvements, physical distribution management, and perform medical risk management in the hospital.
