[ Summary ] |
To assess the usefulness of critical path (CP) for treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and cardiac catheterization (CAG) in hemodialysis (HD) patients, the valiances of CP were analyzed. In 42 AMI patients and 121 HD patients undergoing CAG, the rates of incidence variance were 33.3% (14 patients) and 18.2% (22 patients), respectively. The incidence of variance was mostly caused by "patient factors", such as indications of PTCA or CABG. Length of stay decreased from 20.9 days to 17.4 days for AMI patients. This data suggests that the use of the CP for treatment of AMI and CAG is useful tool for medical care and hospital management. |
