[ Summary ] On the basis of the three-pool beta2-microglobulin (beta2-m) kinetic model by Odell and co-workers, we devised equations, by which beta2-m Kt/V may be calculated.
When the beta2-m removal amount was fixed at 7mg/kg, the Kt/V value was virtually constant as dialyzer clearance of beta2-m incresed, whereas the beta2-m reduction rate increased as the dialyzer clearance of beta2-m increased. These findings may be due to the fact that the rebound of plasma beta2-m concentration was taken into account when the Kt/V was calculated.
