[ Summary ] Cardiovascular problems are life long issues for the patients with end-stage renal diseases, since the incidence of arteriosclerosis among them is extremely high. In diabetic patients, cases of silent cerebral ischemia and ischemic heart disease are more frequent at the initiation of dialysis, compared to those patients with glomerulonephritis. Early detection and early treatment of the diseases are important. Moreover, primary as well as secondary prevention of these cardiovascular diseases is warranted for an improvement in quality of life for diabetic dialysis patients.
