[ Summary ] A case with complication from anaphylaxis due to single use dialyzer, has shown clinical course with no complications from the reuse of the dialyzer over a period of seventeen years and ten months.
To make improvements in reuse techniques, a new system, with unified internal filtration, an enhanced dialyzer and an endtoxin (ET) cut filter was devised.
Procedures for reuse are divided into the two follows steps ; first, by using filtration sterilization, the dialyzer is filtrated with the dialysate treated with an ET-cut filter, then in the second step, the dialyzer is preserved at 60 degrees for more than twenty four, in an incubator with the heating method. By using these systems, membrane biocompatibility is improved. Moreover, the procedures for reuse are simplified, compared to ordinary chemical sterilization.
