[ Summary ] The assessing tests of peritoneal function are very important for treatment in CAPD patients. In order to achieve adequate dialysis which sufficient dialytic dose and match dialysis regiemens for patient's life style, it must be estimated individual patient characteristics of the peritoneal transport. The PET and PDC are main tests of assessing peritoneal function. The PET is widely performed test, and estimate the transperitoneal passage of fluid and solutes by measuring the absorption of glucose and the remove of creatinine. PDC is a new test for evaluating peritoneal function which is based upon the three pore model. The peritoneal function is expressed three parameters; area parameter which means capacities of peritoneal transport of solute and water, absorption parameter and peritoneal loss of albumin. It is able to simulate the effect of PD prescription for adequate treatment using computer program based on these two tests.
