[ Summary ] Psychotic symptoms associated with drugs used by patients receiving hemodialysis(HD) are quite common. However it is difficult to trace causes of psychotic symptoms, because patients on hemodialysis have other factors -- such as weakness of CNS, and psycho-social streses. These factors can produce psychotic symptoms.
In this chapter we review some common drugs that can produce psychotic symptoms, and explain those symptoms and treatment of depressive states and delirium.
When psychotic symptoms occur among patients receiving HD, we must consider whether every drugs used may produse psychotic symptoms or not.
