[ Summary ] Some new kinds of sensors have been introduced for hemodialysis treatments in order to improve the safety and efficiency of treatment. Monitoring, using a less invasive measurement techniques , such as optical methods and high performance transducers, enables us to use feed back controls for the dialysis machine, and may lead to the development of an auto-dialysis system, which can respond to corresponding changes in the patient's condition, and the performance of the dialysis machine during treatment. This type of system is especially required for acute renal failure patients and home care dialysis patients.
