[ Summary ] Multidisplinary treatments for malignant tumors have developed in the last two decades. Progress in chemotherapy has contributed substantially to the improvement of clinical results in cancer treatment. The number of dialysis patients suffering from malignant tumors is increasing, because of the frequent induction of dialysis for elderly patients and the increased number of patients who undergo long-term kidney dialysis. Although the reduction in morbidity associated with surgical treatment for hemodialysis patients has made remarkable progress with anti-coagulation therapy, chemotherapy seems to be the main tool for treatment advanced malignant tumors, even in dialysis patients. However, pharmacokinetics and the pharmacodynamics of anti-cancer drugs have not been well investigated in patients with chronic renal failure, or in patients undergoing dialysis. Dialyzability, dosages and usage of anti-cancer drugs for dialysis patients are reported in this paper.
