[ Summary ] The therapeutic results of acute drug poisoning are influenced by initial generalized therapies, especially by management of respiration and circulation. In paralell with the procedure mentioned above, past history, circumstances before and after ingestion of the toxin and soon must be clarified.
Blood purification methods are very effective in acute drug poisoning cases if the condition and clinical course of the patient satisfy the necessary criteria, and most importantly if the material is justified as being removed DHP removes drugs more rapidly and effectively, in general, than HD but does not correct qualitative and quantitative abnormalities of body fluids. Therefore, DHP and HD should be used together, according to the patient's condition.
