[ Summary ] From the beginning, dialysis-nursing has delivered care and support for each patient's life, such as securing the patients who are having treatments, and helping patients with self-care. Their purpose has been "helping patients who are using dialyzers with their lives". But, now the methods of treatment for dialysis-nursing have changed. The original purpose of the treatment, "saving patients from uremia" is changing into medical treatment of a high order, such as "prolonging the life for long term" and "satisfaction of QOL". Also, the types of nursing have diversified and expanded. It is about time we consider the quality of nursing. Making it a condition that team-medical treatment is systematized, caring for patients hegins with the assessment of subjective lesions learned from patients. It is an important point of professional instruction that we help patients develop the skills for self-care, and for growth process resulting in self-fulfillment.
