[ Summary ] Because of the high removal rates of uremic substances from the blood, through high flux dialysis membranes, endotoxins in dialysates have become one of the biggest problems associated with routine hemodialysis treatment. There is a possibility of contaminating the blood of dialyzed patients through regular dialysis treatrnent with endotoxins. Complete dialysate line maintenance is needed. On line HDF or push and pull HDF treatment, especially, requires very low endotoxin contaminated dialysate, with levels less than 1 EU/l.
