| [ Summary ] | The main purpose of our research and development is to prevent hypotension during HD by monitoring the patient's blood volume continuously, through an individual HD machine, interfacing with a CLM system. We hope to devise a system that reads the signal from the CLM and transmits it to the machine to control the UF in accordance with the physician's pre-selected program. By utilizing the CLM principles, UF control system at the physiological level will now be viable. Also we intend to develop a device that will read the pressure inside of the tubing and covert it into an adjustment of the patient's BP. Thus, QOL for HD patients in hospital as well as at home will improve greatly in the future. | |
