[ Summary ] Our dialysis unit provides a three year educational program that has set goals of accomplishment in every educational period. The learners are able to receive systematic guidance and evaluation. It has been suggested that self-evaluation by learners is very important to this education. In this article, I will evaluate the dialysis nursing care observed during one year of work in the dialysis unit. I Iearned the frequent tasks (such as the operation of dialysis equipment) as the first step of my training. I realized the importance of psychological and physical care for patients, well as the serious social problems and the necessity for co-operation between physician, technician and MSW on my second step of learning. I will do my best to be a special dialysis nurse in the second year of training. I will offer supplementary self-evaluations of the educational program in our dialysis unit and attempt to make a good environment for learning with others.
