[ Summary ] Lipids are important components of cell structures. However, in end stage renal diseases (ESRD), hyperlipidemia, especially hypertriglycemia, is frequently found. These abnormalities cause atherosclerosis, which eventually leads to the coronary heart disease and cerebral vascular injuries, which are found in dialysis patients. Dietary modification is one of the most important therapies for the treatment of hyperlipidemia in dialysis patients.
