[ Summary ] In recent decades, growing numbers of patients on long-term hemodialysis have developed a variety of skeletal disorders. Furthermore, the frequencies of these disorders are increasing. Many such disorders are caused by secondary amyloidosis. In affricted patients, chronic arthropathy is associated with carpal tunnel syndrome, bony cystic lesions and destructive spondyloarthropathy. We describe the value of magnetic resonance imaging as a diagnostic modality for these disorders.
