[ Summary ] | Hemodialysis-related amyloidosis leads to carpal-tunnel syndrome, osteoarthropathy in the synovial joints and destructive spondyloarthropathy. On conventional radiography, soft tissue swelling, juxtaarticular osteoporosis and subchondral cystic lesions without significant joint space narrowing are characteristic findings of amyloid osteoarthropathy. CT may provide additional information about the extent and location of the lesion. In destructive spondyloarthropathy, characteristic radiographic findings include progressive narrowing of the disk space, end-plate erosion and subchondral sclerosis that may simulate infectious spondylitis. |
