[ Summary ] In South-east of Asia, the availability of dialysis therapy is not adequate to meet demands, and in this regard does not compare favorably to Japan. The number of dialysis institutes is inadequate, and in addition, the number of patients who can undergo the dialysis therapy, is smaller than anticipated from the populations of their countries. This situation is attributable to the national budgets and personal incomes in these countries being at or below the poverty line. It is noteworthy that, in these countries, the only people who can undergo dialysis therapy are usually nephrologists.
