| [ Summary ] | The following paper describes the work of the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/ European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA). The EDTNA/ERCA strategy for development of quality renal care in Europe was the development of the Association's Core Curriculum and Clinical Standard's Document for Nephrology Nursing Practice. The way in which these document were evolved is described, and the costruction and content of the documents are detailed. The implementation of the documents in different countries across Europe is also discussed. The paper concludes with a summary of future strategies for the improvement of quality of renal care in Europe, such as the introduction of an Education Board for the Association and the ongoing work of the Standards implementation Groups in different countries across Europe. | |
