[ Summary ] The most important point in determining suitability as a donor kidney is selecting the best transplant kidney for the recipient. In this regard, kidneys from young people (under 55), matched in weight and without infectious diseases, are suitable for transplantation. Of course, a kidney from someone with brain death is better than froms omeone with cardiac death because of the short warm ischemic time, good graft survival rate, and lower death rate. To achieve a good survival rate, the transplant surgeon and physician should cooperate with each other. Basically, making the decision person to undergo renal transplantation is the resipient.
