[ Summary ] Cardiovascular complications cause the majority of deaths in chronic dialysis patients, and controling blood pressure is important for improving not only the quality of life but also prognosis. The basis of blood pressure control in these patients is to achieve and maintain an adequate body fluid volume and dry weight. Calcium antagonists, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and beta-blockers are used as the first line antihypertensive drugs in the treatment of hypertension in dialysis patients. For the antihypertensive and antihypotensive medications, the doses of drugs which are excreted by the kidney should be carefully adjusted.
