| [ Summary ] | Laparoscopic assisted colectomy has gradually become the standard therapy for treatment of early colon cancer, and its indications are expanding. As a general rule, endoscopic resection is used to treat early-stage cancers that can be cured by local resection, but LAC is the preferred treatment for early cancers requiring intestinal resection accompanied by lymphadenectomy. For advanced cancers, indications up to MP' have been accepted, and indications for cancer deeper than SE' are being investigated. Data for long-term prognosis must still be collected and acrefully analyzed. In the future, advances in individualized therapy and reduction surgery by LAC that takes into account the state of metastasis in individual patients, will significantly contribute to improvements in patient QOL and therapeutic results. | |
