[ Summary ] | Pit patterns and three dimensional configurations associated with colorectal lesions were evaluated. For crypt isolation, the HCl-digestion method was used. The three-dimensional configurations of isolated crypts were as follows: the type I pit pattern resembled a test tube; the type II pit pattern was a tubular, but fissures were observed at the bottom; the type IIIL pit pattern was a reversed triangle; the type IIIS pit pattern tapered off in no particular direction; the type IV pit pattern appeared as a long, reversed triangle; and the type V pit pattern was complicated, with no defined shape. Endoscopists, will be able to formulate his topathological diagnoses using the objective information gathered from pit patterns and their three-dimensional configurations. |
