[ Summary ] We have various systems for teaching colonoscopic insertion techniques. We think the colon model is the best system for teaching colonoscopic insertion techniques. It can give us an understanding of the colonic anatomy, while doing colonoscopic insertions. This is especially so in understanding how to pass some flexure levels (S-D junction, mid-transverse colon, splenic or hepatic flexures). We have other teaching systems of colonoscopic insertion techniques, however, in some way, we have to teach basic insertion techniques, as to avoid over insufflating air in the colon, and to do shortening techniques of colon.
