[ Summary ] Basic operative methods : We mainly described our usual examination procedures. We generally gave suggestions for methods including pretreatment and premedication. Methods for insertion of ultrasonic colonovideoscopes and ultrasonic probes were described as well.
Methods for imaging lesions : We maintain that the selection of the type of endoscopic ultrasonography depends on the kinds of lesions found. We mainly use the de-aeraeted water immersion method. In cases of examinations with colorectal endoscopic ultrasonography, our choice is usually the de-aeraeted water immersion method. We also described about our usual methods of injecting and preparing de-aeraeted water. On the subject of the practical imaging of the lesions, we described the normal layer structure of the colorectal wall and the special features of intramucosal and submucosal cancer.
Imaging management : We described the merits and problems with imaging management methods. Each hospital must choose which of these methods they will use.
