[ Summary ] |
The development of balloon-assisted endoscopy (BAE) has enabled access to the entire small intestine with interventional capabilities, including EBD. EBD with BAE has been performed for small intestinal strictures secondary to CD, with a gradual increase in performance over time. Bleeding complications with EBD have been rarely reported; however, exclusion criteria for EBD should be strictly followed to reduce the risk of bleeding. Bleeding often stops spontaneously; however, if the bleeding continues, endoscopic hemostasis with clipping should be considered. |
