[ Summary ] EBD is an effective therapy for improving CD stricture symptoms. Recently, small bowel EBD using balloon endoscopy has been widely performed in Japan. EBD has some disadvantages, such as regular dilation being needed in many cases, risk of perforation, technical difficulties of small bowel insertion, and scope instability, compared to colonic EBD. In this article, we describe the indications, technical details, and follow-up with a case presentation of small bowel EBD using balloon endoscopy.
