[ Summary ] Patients with Crohn's disease (CD) have an increased risk of small bowel adenocarcinoma (SBA) and the known risk factors for developing SBA include long duration of CD, ileal/ileocolonic type CD, presence of strictures in CD, and presence of penetrating CD. Although balloon-assisted enteroscopy could detect SBA with biopsy, no effective endoscopic diagnostic strategy has been established yet. Thus, understanding the epidemiology and features of CD-related SBA would be important to diagnose malignancy in a timely manner.
