[ Summary ] The ultra-thin colonoscope, PCF-PQ260 by Olympus Corporation, is equipped with two responsive insertion technologies (RIT): passive bending and high force transmission. To improve their insertion skills, the trainees must first learn the "right turn shortening" technique and should not rely on such latest technology. Being familiar with the RIT can ensure a safe and less painful colonoscopy and can allow for successful insertion in difficult cases. Therefore, the characteristics of the PCF-PQ260 and the practical insertion technique for colonoscopy are explained
