[ Summary ] Collagen disease and vasculitis cause gastrointestinal lesions and the pathology is due to blood flow disorders. Vasculitis with gastrointestinal involvement demonstrates ulceration or perforation of the gastrointestinal tract owing to transmural ischemia caused by necrotizing focal segmental vasculitis. Vasculitis differs in etiology and pathology depending on the size of the affected blood vessel and is classified into polyarteritis nodosa and antineutrophil cytoplastic antibody.
