[ Summary ] An increase in the ageing population has led to a rise in the incidence of aortic stenosis (AS) in our country. Heyde's syndrome involves gastrointestinal bleeding complicated by aortic stenosis caused by gastrointestinal angiodysplasia and acquired von Willebrand syndrome. If a patient has an obscure gastrointestinal bleeding after an initial gastroscopy and/or colonoscopy, a capsule endoscopy is sometimes useful to diagnose a small intestinal bleeding. It is important to recognize Heyde's syndrome, which is gastrointestinal bleeding complicated by aortic stenosis due to acquired von Willebrand syndrome, as gastrointestinal bleeding is improved by aortic valve implantation or transcatheter aortic valve implantation.
