[ Summary ] Balloon-assisted enteroscopy (BAE) is essential and useful for the diagnosis and treatment of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding (OGIB). Medical treatment of small intestinal issues has shown remarkable advances; however, BAE is a relatively new technique, and health care services are not necessarily congruent with reality. Revision of medical remuneration points and insurance listing of a new item as being necessary will lead to widespread use of endoscopic skills and development of the medical domain for the management of issues associated with the small intestine.
