[ Summary ] |
The guidelines for treatment of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) also state recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of rectal NETs. Endoscopic treatment of rectal NETs is indicated for "NETs ≤ 1 cm in size with no muscularis propria invasion or lymph node metastasis". If pathological assessment of the resected specimen is "no muscularis propria invasion, no lymphovascular invasion, resection margin-negative", follow-up is conducted. In post-endoscopic treatment surveillance for rectal NETs, it is important to accurately assess risk factors during initial treatment. |
