[ Summary ] | Blue laser imaging (BLI) and Linked color imaging (LCI) have emerged as new forms of image enhanced endoscopy. BLI can enhance the contrast of surface vessels using lasers for light illumination. LCI can detect images with enhanced brightness and varied colors. A number of reports have shown the usefulness in terms of diagnostic ability, of magnifying endoscopy with BLI (M-BLI) for colorectal lesions. Those reports applied previous classifications used for magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging (M-NBI). The usefulness of diagnostic ability of M-BLI has not been reported, using the Japan NBI Expert Team (JNET) classification which unified many previous classifications of MNBI. We showed there were no differences in diagnostic ability for colorectal lesions between M-BLI and M-NBI using JNET classification in our hospital review. The diagnostic ability of magnifying endoscopy with LCI (M-LCI) has not been reported. We look forward to future research on the diagnostic ability of M-LCI. |
