[ Summary ] A woman in her 70s recieved initial emergent total colonoscopy for hematochezia with outadequate bowel preparation. There were no large colorectal lesions detected and no residual blood was observed during the initial colonoscopy. Nine months after the initial colonoscopy, she underwent subsequent colonoscopy. Advanced cecal cancer (Borrmann type 2) was found. Residual stool material from inadequate bowel preparation can hide small polyps as well as advanced cancer. Colonoscopies performed with inadequate bowel preparation should be re-examined as soon as possible.
