[ Summary ] |
This case involved a 73 old woman. She had a lesion of indeterminate location which was determined to be sessile serrated adenoma/polyp (SSA/P) at the opening of the appendix and the ascending colon. She was reffered to our hospital by another clinic for consultation and close inspection to determine treatment. EMR was used to determine a lesion at the opening of the appendix in our hospital. After a 12 month follow-up period she was discovered to have a lesion 15 mm IIa+IIc in size derived from SSA/P near the liver flexura. It was diagnosed as being an SM deep invasion. As a result it was resected surgically. It was determined to be an interval cancer. Six SSA/P lesions in total were treated. Therefore the lesions were considered to have developed rapidly from SPS. |
