| [ Summary ] | Various clinical indices (CIs) and endoscopic indices (EIs) are available to evaluate the state of ulcerative colitis (UC). However, the EIs used in different clinical trials and institutions are not consistent, and no so-called "champion index" exists. Moreover, inter-observer variation remains a problem for EIs. This article reviews EIs, with a particular focus on the Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity (UCEIS). | |
