[ Summary ] Translational research (TR) is aimed at efficiently and effectively translating the findings of basic research from different industries into practical use in clinical medicine. Herein, we performed TR on serrated lesions, which have unknown clinicopathological features. We found correlations among the magnified endoscopic findings, pathological features, and molecular biological analysis results of sessile serrated adenoma/polyp (SSA/P) and other lesions belonging to their family. During the course of our study, we also faced new problems and challenges. TR is speculated to aid in elucidating the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal lesions and to contribute greatly in areas right from the diagnosis through the treatment in the next few decades. Moreover, it is speculated to aid in the diagnosis of digestive tract diseases in the future.
