[ Summary ] At the International Consensus Conference on Vasculitis (Chapel Hill Consensus Conference ; CHCC), the term "Henoch-SchĂ–nlein purpura" was changed to "IgA vasculitis". The characteristics of gastrointestinal lesions due to IgA vasculitis are edematous mucosa, redness, erosion, and ulcers. These lesions are frequently detected in the duodenum with esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy. Video capsule endoscopy also can detect these lesions in the small intestine.
