[ Summary ] The ileocecum is complicated anatomically, and a variety of diseases may occur in this region. Therefore, it is necessary to understand these anatomical features when we diagnose ileocecal diseases. In addition, the ileocecal region is different from the small intestine or the large intestine in terms of functionality. It is important we understand the physiologic and histologic characteristics of this area.
