| [ Summary ] | The NBI magnifying classification system, termed the Hiroshima Classification system for colorectal lesions is based on surface patterns. It is used to evaluate both surface patterns and vascular patterns. Type A in the Hiroshima Classification system nearly corresponds to Type I in the Sano Classification system and Faint pattern under the Showa Classification. The Type C3 Hiroshima Classification nearly corresponds to the Type IIIB Sano Classification and the Sparse pattern in the Showa Classification. When these observations are made, at first, those areas should classified under the unified system (concept of NICE Classification). Further residual areas should be subclassified to provide adequate information which may be useful in selection of effective therapeutic methods. These methods are currently being developed in the team meetings. | |
