[ Summary ] ESD can be used to remove larger colorectal tumors than EMR. However, several technical difficulties exist, because the wall of the colon is thin and winding. The main problems with ESD are long procedure times and high rates of perforation. One method to resolve these problems is to use snare ESD procedures. This method has been termed hybrid ESD. With this method it can be easier to perform than with basic ESD. We present a retrospective analysis of hybrid ESD and explain detailed technical aspect.
