[ Summary ] Microscopic polyangiitis and Wegener's granulomatosis are vasculitis syndromes which invade minute blood vessels with allergic and granulomatous angiitis (Churg-Strauss syndrome), and are termed ANCA related angiitis. With both diseases, since it is thought that the appearance of an alimentary canal pathological change is an important factor which determines a prognosis, diagnosis of developmental symptoms in the early stages is important. As a feature of gastrointestinal involvement, severe edematous mucosa, longitudinal ulcers and erosion followed by inflammatory changes and ischemic changes accompanying angiitis are seen in many cases. It is important to have full knowledge of the feature of gastrointestinal involvements, and to enforce diagnosis and medical treatment quickly.
