[ Summary ] There is a lack of reports concerning and adequate data for discussion. However, there is no satisfactory evidence that small advanced cancer exhibits higher malignancy than normal advanced cancer of the same depth or same stage. Therefore, the treatment strategy policy according to current guidelines seems to be safe. But, because small cancers tend to be diagnosed as early cancer, lymph node dissection of the surgery may come to be considered insufficient. Therefore, we must conduct vigilant postoperative surveillance.
