[ Summary ] | Radiological features of villous tumors of the large bowel are characeterized by reticular and/or fine granular patterns with feathery margins. These are more frequently seen in tumors with predominant villous components. However, a clear determination of villous tumors from intramucosal villous adenocarcinomas is difficult by radiography alone. It is also difficult to diagnose the depth of invasion in large villous tumors with broad bases, because those tumors are often covered with abundant mucus adhering to the surface. The size of nodules and feathery margins is a significant radiographic indication to make the distinction between villous tumors and nodule-aggregating lesions. |
