[ Summary ] Recently, therapies for UC have been improved. Intensive treatment with CAP was officially accepted in 2010. We have demonstrated that UC out-patients capable of moderate activity are good candidates for weekly LCAP. On the other hand, a close correlation between UC duration and GMA response has been proven in retrospective studies. CAP is the original Japanese adjunct therapy for refractory UC. Therefore, predictive markers for UC must be created to clearly establish treatment modalities and to reinforce clinical efficacy.
