[ Summary ] When diagnosing infectious enteritis for histopathology, the presence of pathogenic micro-organisms or intranuclear viral inclusions should be detected initially. The presence of granulomatous lesions or lymphoid hyperplasia should be detected next. If specific causative factor is detected, specific disease can be suggested. The most frequent infectious disease is acute bacterial enteritis, and distinction between bacterial enteritis and IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) is also important.
