[ Summary ] The cause of Crohn's disease is unknown and treatment is difficult, and there is no radical treatment. At this time, it is not possible to break the cycle of recurrence-remission of this disease. Crohn's disease has been treated with anti-inflammatory agents and nutrition therapy, with limited degrees of efficacy. Repeated operations are often performed to treat it. Recently, biologic agents to treat Crohn's disease have produced very good results, providing improved patient quality of life. By establishing the concept of mucosal healing and relapse prevention, with medical treatment as well as surgery, we may provide improved treatment for this condition.
