[ Summary ] In recent years, the number of colonoscopic treatments performed has increased with the overall increase in colonoscopic examinations. In these circumstances, the guidelines for treatment of colon cancer were developed. However, it is not clear what the criteria for treatment of colonic adenomas should be therefore, they need further consideration. Endoscopic submucosal dissection is becoming more commonly used. A standard technique has not yet been established but it is expected that polypectomies and endoscopic mucosal resection will fill this role. Accordingly, we should not consider endoscopic treatment exclusively but consider surgical therapy an alternative treatment modality.
