[ Summary ] |
The common condition, gastrointestinal hemorrhage is caused by various diseases. Most of these conditions are diagnosed and treated endoscopically, however diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology are sometimes necessary. Multidetector row computed tomogramphy (MDCT) is being considered as a potential diagnostic tool due to the remarkable progress being made in its development. This article describes indications from radiologists' viewpoint in terms of treating gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Major image findings from CT scans, 99mTc-HSAD scintigraphy and angiography are also summarized. |
